Joshua Baruch | Founder of Colorado Rides and Guides
Joshua Baruch has been working in the outdoor industry for 18 years, with experience in outdoor guiding, healthcare, mountain rescue, transportation, and outdoor risk management and safety. His first backpacking trip at age 7 included eight nights in New Hampshire’s Presidential Range and hooked him on the outdoor life. He has traveled extensively on mountains, trails and rivers throughout the United States ever since and has logged more than 35 international expeditions on 5 continents. With an educational background in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on Adventure Education, he began his professional outdoor career guiding in 1996 and founded his first mountaineering company in 1997 in California. Accumulating knowledge and certifications over the years, Joshua’s experience grew with American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA), American Institute of Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE), Wilderness EMT, and high angle search and rescue and trainings. Moving to Colorado, Joshua founded Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides (CWRAG) in 2009, which now serves as a premier outdoor adventure hub and team building center. Under Joshua’s leadership, Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides provides innovative and custom experiences for individuals and groups of all sizes, and has developed a unique process for creating industry-leading organization team building events for fortune 500 companies, government organizations, and professional sports teams. In addition, CWRAG is a provider of avalanche education, wilderness medicine certifications, and outdoor and wilderness guide training courses. To make life more interesting, in 2014 Joshua started a second company to designed, build and run Colorado’s best family-friendly obstacle mud event, Hard As Nails Obstacle Mud Race.
